Range Overview
What's the difference between ControlFix, ControlBase, and ControlSurface?
Three ranges solving different mounting problems for the same control panels. ControlFix adapts a panel to a wall - either a front-insertion clip for a 70mm plasterboard cutout (no back box), or a back box adapter converting an AU or NA gang wallbox to the EU square standard. ControlBase is a weighted desktop mount bringing a wall-designed panel to a desk or worktop at a fixed display angle. ControlSurface mounts the same panel directly onto joinery, stone, or timber as a low-profile surface extension.
Why surface mount, not flush mount?
Most control panels are designed around a standard electrical box - a cavity behind the wall, a bracket that fixes into that box, and a faceplate that sits flush with the surface. Flush mounting, whether new-construction or retrofit, follows that logic closely. It's the mounting method panels are natively built for, adapted to sit in plasterboard or a purpose-built recess instead of a standard box. Solid substrates don't have that cavity to work with. Stone, timber, marble, and masonry can't take a flush recess without cutting into the material itself, and that cut is often irreversible and can compromise the substrate. ControlSurface is a different mounting method, not a depth-adjusted flush mount. The bracket fixes directly to the face of the substrate through a 4mm clearance hole pattern in the bracket base, so installers choose how many fixing points to use and where, matched to the substrate and fixing method on site. Surface fixings aren't supplied - the right fixing depends on what you're mounting into, so that choice sits with the installer. Flush mounting is the right call when a panel can sit in a cavity the way it was designed to. What is Type 86 / EU square format?
The common architectural mounting standard for EU square control panels - 86x86mm faceplate, 60.3mm fixing centres, M3.5 screws. Shared across most EU-format smart control panels, keypads, and touchscreens, not one specific brand.
What's the difference between the CF-70 and the ControlFix gang adapters?
CF-70 is a front-insertion plasterboard clip for a 70mm round cutout - genuinely in-wall, no back box. The gang adapters (AU 1-Gang, NA 2-Gang) mount onto an existing AU or NA wallbox and convert it to the EU square standard - these are surface-mount, not in-wall, since they attach to a box that's already installed.
Which ControlFix format do I need - the round cutout clip or the NA 2-Gang adapter?
Depends on a few factors specific to your installation. Do you already have a wallbox in place? If you're working with an empty cutout and no wallbox, the CF-70 front-insertion clip is the simpler solution - no back box needed at all. If there's already a US-style 2-gang wallbox installed, or your local electrical code requires one for this type of installation, the NA 2-Gang adapter is designed to mount onto it directly. Check your local requirements if you're unsure whether a back box is mandated for SELV control panel installations in your jurisdiction. What's your panel size? The NA 2-Gang adapter is sized for a 2-gang box specifically because Type 86's 60.3mm fixing centres don't fit a standard single-gang box - if your panel is a different format, check the panel compatibility table above before choosing either option. Do you want the mounting plate to also finish the wall? The NA 2-Gang adapter includes a Gallery finish face plate that covers the gap between the box and the panel, so it doubles as a finishing accessory as well as a mount. CF-70 doesn't include a separate face plate - the panel itself sits flush in the cutout. What are the Multigang products for?
Dynalite Revolution Multigang frames bring multiple Revolution EU modules together - Double Gang (2 modules) and Triple Gang (3 modules). Each bracket or adapter is sized to the exact outer dimensions of the assembled frame, not a single module, so the combined panel sits with no visible gap. Available as desktop mount, surface mount, or NA back box adapter.
What is ControlBase Stage?
A recessed desktop mount designed for the LSC WPX Wall Plate Touchscreen Controller, available in Anthracite Black and Graphite Grey finishes, with a Keystone or Neutrik D-type backplane.
What are the generic ControlBase Dimensional mounts for?
Desktop mounts sized by panel face dimension (86x86mm through 90x90mm) rather than a specific brand - compatible with Dynalite, KNX, Shelly, Rithum, and other manufacturers building to the same Type 86 format.
What keystone accessories do you offer?
Material-matched blanks, cable passthrough grommets (6.5mm and 4mm OD), and a 2.1mm DC socket insert - designed to fill unused keystone positions on the ControlBase and ControlSurface backplanes.
Do you offer mounting hardware for Decora / NEMA-style switches and keypads?
We haven't released Decora / NEMA-style mounting hardware yet. If you have an application that needs it, contact us at studio@730design.au - we're open to discussing what's involved.
How do I know which range is right for my installation?
If you have an existing wallbox and want the panel flush to the wall, use ControlFix. If you want the panel on a desk or counter, use ControlBase. If you want the panel mounted directly to joinery, stone, or timber without a back box, use ControlSurface. Contact studio@730design.au if your installation doesn't clearly fit one of these.

ControlFix is a universal Type 86 format adapter - compatible with any EU square panel at 86-90mm face size and 60.3mm fixing centres, not limited to specific brands. Contact studio@730design.au to confirm fit for your specific panel.
Which Dynalite Antumbra panels are supported?
The full Antumbra family in both EU and NA formats - Display colour (DADPE/DADPA), Display monochrome (PADPE/PADPA), Button (PAxBPE/PAxBPA), Touch (PATPE/PATPA), and Button Lite (PAxBLE/PAxBLA).
Which Dynalite Revolution panels are supported?
Revolution Display EU (PDRDE), Revolution Button EU panels in 2, 4, and 8-button configurations, and Revolution Multigang Double and Triple Gang frame configurations.
Which Dynalite PDTS variants are supported?
All PDTS touchscreen variants, available at 30 degree or 45 degree mounting angle depending on desk height and presentation preference.
Are Pharos touchscreens compatible?
Yes - TPS5 and TPS8, verified compatible with the equivalent Pharos XPT5/XPT8 Express (Expert) Touch variants, since all share the same physical format and mounting plate standard.
Are ETC Mosaic touchscreens compatible?
Yes - TPS5/TPS8 mounts are verified compatible with ETC Mosaic M-TS5 and M-TS8 (also known as the Unison Mosaic 5 inch and 8 inch Touchscreens), since ETC's Mosaic range shares the Pharos physical format and mounting standard.
Are Pathway Connectivity touchscreens compatible?
Yes - the PWTS Perform Touchscreen Wall Station, 5IN size, portrait and landscape orientation. Panel display orientation is configured independently in Pathscape software regardless of which physical bracket orientation you choose.
Are LSC Control Systems panels compatible?
Yes - the LSC WPX Wall Plate Touchscreen Controller, via the ControlBase Stage recessed desktop mount.
Does ControlFix or ControlSurface work with panels other than Dynalite?
Yes - the Type 86 / 60.3mm standard is shared by Dynalite Antumbra and Revolution EU panels, KNX keypads, Shelly wall controls, Rithum switches, and other EU-format panels using the same fixing centres and M3.5 screw standard.
Can the NA 2-Gang Revolution EU adapter fit a standard single-gang box instead?
Yes - it's also compatible with standard Australian and US single-gang mounting hole configurations. The 60.3mm panel fixing centres are wider than the standard single-gang box width, so additional clearance holes outside the box footprint are required. Confirm your panel's bracket orientation aligns with the horizontal fixing centres before ordering.
Is the control panel included with any of these products?
No. All listing images show panels for reference only - panels are not supplied with any ControlFix, ControlBase, or ControlSurface product.
Are you associated with the manufacturer?
No - all products are third-party accessory components, not affiliated with or endorsed by Dynalite, Pharos, ETC, Pathway, or LSC. Brand and model names are used for compatibility identification only. We work from manufacturer-published dimensions and verify fit against real, physical panels before publishing a listing - compatibility isn't just claimed, it's checked.
Why do control panels use different wall box standards in different countries?
Four major regions run on four different, unrelated conventions - Australia/NZ at 84.0mm, North America (NEMA) at 83.3mm, UK/Type 86 at 60.3mm, and Continental Europe (DIN) at 60.0mm. None were designed with the others in mind, which is exactly why mounting hardware has to bridge them rather than assume one fits all. Is there an official Australian wall box standard?
No - the 84.0mm fixing spacing used across Australia and New Zealand isn't a legislated product standard. AS/NZS 3000 (the Wiring Rules) covers general electrical installation safety, not exact box dimensions. 84.0mm is a long-standing manufacturer convention, followed consistently by Clipsal/Schneider Electric, Hager, PDL and others, that keeps flush boxes and grid plates interchangeable across brands in practice. Is there a retrofit solution for older back boxes?
Yes - the DTP170-PDTS retrofit adapter bridges the legacy Dynalite DTP170 wall cutout to the current PDTS touchscreen, closing the oversized wall penetration left by the outgoing DTP170 without drywall patching or repainting.
Materials & Technical
What is the Gallery finish?
Glass-fibre reinforced composite, RF transparent and electrically insulating, finished with a UV-stabilised satin clearcoat. Available in Arctic White, Luna Grey, and Obsidian Black.
What is the Core finish?
Carbon-fibre reinforced composite with no clearcoat - the raw matte texture is the finish, in Anthracite Black. Denser than Gallery, with greater hardness, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance - suited to high-wear technical installations and demonstration environments. What colours are available?
Arctic White, Luna Grey, and Obsidian Black (Gallery), or Anthracite Black (Core), depending on the product line.
Is this hardware safe for low-voltage data and control systems?
Yes - all products are manufactured from non-conductive, RF-transparent composites, rated for SELV (Safety Extra-Low Voltage) systems only. None of our products are electrical enclosures, and mains power must never be connected to or routed through them.
What's the maximum operating temperature?
70 degrees C for the bracket itself. Panel-specific temperature limits may be lower - refer to the manufacturer's documentation for your specific panel.
What thread standard is used?
M3.5 embedded brass threads as standard throughout the range, rated for repeat removal and reinstallation. 6-32 UNC thread variants are available on request.
Can I use my own fixing screws?
Yes - please verify appropriate thread specifications before substituting. We use M3.5 at 0.6mm pitch (ISO 261/262) as standard throughout the range. This is a different thread to Clipsal's general AU accessory M3.5 screws (0.8mm pitch) and to HPM's legacy 6-32 UNC switch screws - all three are similarly sized but not interchangeable. Confirm both thread size and pitch match your specific application before installation.
What tools do I need to install these products?
Hand tools only. Install and tighten fixing screws by hand - do not use power tools or impact drivers on any fixing point.
How does ControlFix install without rear wall access?
The 70mm cutout version uses a C-profile that inserts entirely from the front face into a standard 70mm round cutout - interference fit holds it in place while the panel is fitted, with embedded M3.5 brass threads giving the final fixing point. No back box or rear cavity access is required.
What if my plasterboard cutout comes out slightly oversized?
A slightly oversized or torn cutout can reduce the interference fit. A small piece of tape across the front face holds the adapter in position while you offer up the panel - once the screws are tightened, the adapter is fully locked regardless of initial fit. This is normal on-site variation the design accommodates.
What connectivity does the ControlBase backplane support?
Varies by product line. Dynalite-compatible ControlBase products have two keystone positions, compatible with RJ45 Cat6, RJ11 Cat3, 2.1mm DC socket inserts, and cable grommets. PDTS-compatible ControlBase has three keystone positions. Pathway and Pharos-compatible ControlBase products offer one position, either Keystone or Neutrik D-type.
What's the difference between the Keystone and D-type backplane options?
Keystone accepts standard keystone jacks (RJ45, RJ11, DC socket, blanks). D-type accepts Neutrik D-type inserts, supplied with a blank plate for fit testing until you install your chosen insert. Both let the panel be disconnected and relocated without cutting cables.
Is PoE support available on all products?
No - PoE and PoE+ compatibility applies specifically to the Pathway- and Pharos-compatible ControlBase and ControlSurface products with a D-type backplane option. It's not a feature of the Dynalite-compatible range.
Why does ControlBase have a weighted base?
A permanently bonded internal ballast lowers the centre of gravity, giving stable single-handed panel interaction without the bracket sliding or tipping during touch operation.
Are surface fixing screws included with ControlSurface?
No - because ControlSurface mounts to a range of different materials (joinery, stone, timber), fixing screws appropriate to your specific substrate aren't supplied. Panel fixing screws (M3.5) are supplied.
Can I modify, cut, drill, file, or sand the product?
We don't recommend making modifications. Any modification voids the warranty. If you do need to cut, drill, file, or sand any of our fibre-reinforced polymer products, take appropriate precautions. The customer is responsible for determining and following the specific precautions appropriate to their tools, materials, and work environment.

Where is this made, and how long does it take?
Made to order in Melbourne. Standard lead time is 7-10 business days before dispatch - see individual product listings for current lead times. Gallery finish variants undergo a 48-hour clearcoat curing window before dispatch.
How do I place an order?
Orders are processed by invoice - contact studio@730design.au to place an order.
Do you ship internationally?
International shipping is available directly for registered trade accounts, by arrangement - contact studio@730design.au. For public orders outside Australia, delivery is arranged via a parcel forwarding service of your choosing to an Australian address; 730design is not affiliated with any specific provider.
How is domestic shipping calculated?
Domestic shipping is priced according to carrier weight bands, calculated on packed order weight.
Can you ship DDP, with duties and taxes included?
For qualifying orders, yes - contact us to confirm for your specific order.
Do you accept USD payment?
Yes, direct USD payment can be arranged.
Is GST included in your prices?
No - 730design operates under the GST registration threshold, so no GST is charged. Prices shown are final.
What payment methods do you accept?
Card payment through Shopify is available for trade orders. Direct bank transfer is preferred for volume orders and is factored into any discounts applied.
Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes - Trade, Wholesale, and Dealer tiers are available. Contact studio@730design.au to set up an account.
What's the difference between the CF-70 Trade Pack and Dealer Pack?
Trade Pack (white, 5-pack) includes screws. Dealer Pack (orange, 20-pack) doesn't include screws - intended for supplying alongside EU square panels that already ship with their own M3.5 fixing screws, so you're not paying for duplicate hardware at volume.
Can I get a different thread standard than M3.5?
Yes - 6-32 UNC and other thread variants are available on request. Contact studio@730design.au.
Are dimensional drawings available before I order?
Yes - verified dimensional drawings are provided on the product listing for every panel-specific product.
Who do I contact for a custom or project-specific requirement?
studio@730design.au - for thread variants, project-specific requirements, keystone accessories, Core finish availability, or lead time enquiries.
Returns & Warranty
Can I return a made-to-order product if I change my mind?
No - because each unit is manufactured individually to your specified finish, orientation, and configuration, we don't accept change-of-mind returns or returns where no fault exists with the product.
What dimensional tolerance do you manufacture to?
±1mm. If a product falls outside this tolerance against the dimensions stated in its listing, that's our liability and we'll provide a remedy. Dimensional complaints must be supported by measurement and reported within 7 days of delivery.
What situations are covered for a return or remedy?
Transit damage where we arranged shipping, manufacturing defects affecting function or finish below our production standard, or receiving a specification that doesn't match what you ordered (incorrect finish, orientation, or configuration).
How do I report a fault or issue?
Contact studio@730design.au within 7 days of delivery with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs. We respond within 2 business days. Don't return items without prior authorisation - unauthorised returns won't be accepted.
What remedy do you provide for a valid fault?
Replacement, repair, or refund, at our discretion depending on the nature of the fault. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 10 business days.
Do the made-to-order return exclusions apply to ControlFix and keystone accessories?
No - ControlFix and keystone accessories are made to order but not configured to individual specification, so the specification-based exclusions don't apply. The same 7-day inspection and reporting timeline still applies.
Does this policy affect my rights under Australian Consumer Law?
No - nothing in our returns policy limits or excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including entitlement to replacement, refund, or repair for a major failure or acceptable quality issue.
Do EU buyers have a right of withdrawal?
No - under EU Directive 2011/83/EU Article 16(c), the 14-day right of withdrawal doesn't apply to goods made to a consumer's specification. This doesn't affect your rights for faulty goods or goods that don't match the agreed specification.
