ControlFix NA 2-Gang: Mounting a Euro Panel to a US Wallbox

ControlFix NA 2-Gang: Mounting a Euro Panel to a US Wallbox

ControlFix started as a solution for the Australian market - a way to mount EU square panels into a standard round cutout, no back box required. The same underlying problem shows up differently in the US, where a wallbox is often the standard, or at least the preferred, way to mount a control panel.

ControlFix NA 2-Gang addresses that directly: mounting a Dynalite Revolution EU panel to a standard US 2-gang wallbox.

Why a 2-gang box is the minimum

A US single-gang wallbox is taller and narrower than a Euro-style square panel. A 2-gang backbox is the minimum size needed to fit the panel's width, but that leaves a gap all round the panel, since the box doesn't match its footprint.

Built to hold, built to present

ControlFix NA 2-Gang solves this with two components. A structural mounting plate anchors to the wallbox, carrying the load-bearing fixing point via Fin-Lok press-fit M3.5 brass inserts. A Gallery finish face plate sits flush against the wall, covering the gap left by the mismatch between box and panel, with no visible fixings. Gallery comes in Arctic White, Luna Grey, or Obsidian Black.

The panel itself fixes to its own manufacturer-supplied mounting hardware, which in turn secures into the ControlFix mounting plate - so factory spacing and tolerances stay intact, exactly as the panel was designed to be installed.

Finished assembly depth: 4mm.

Compatibility

Designed to manufacturer-published specifications for the Dynalite Revolution Display (PDRDE) and Revolution Button EU (PDRxE). The same underlying platform also supports Dynalite Antumbra EU, and other Type 86 European square panels sharing the same 60.3mm fixing centre standard, in equivalent NA 2-gang configurations.

Also compatible with standard Australian and US single-gang mounting hole configurations - the 60.3mm panel fixing centres are wider than the standard single-gang box width, so additional clearance holes outside the box footprint will be required if mounting to a 1-gang box.
