ControlFix | EU Square Panel Mounting Adapter | 70mm Cutout | 5-Pack

Got a round hole and a square panel? ControlFix is the answer.

A precision mounting adapter that turns a standard 70mm wall cutout into a solid fixing point for EU square control panels. No back box. No cavity access. No second pair of hands.

Cut the hole, drop it in from the front, offer up the panel, tighten the screws. Done.

Works in plasterboard, plywood, MDF, and most standard wall constructions. Suitable for any wall thickness of 10mm or greater. One product.

Designed for lighting control keypads, AV interfaces, KNX panels, smart home switches, and building automation controls using the EU square (Type 86) format.

How It Works

ControlFix drops into a 68–70mm cutout from the front face of the wall. The rear flange bears against the back of the wall surface - suitable for any wall thickness of 10mm or greater. No threading, no back box, no cavity access required.

The C-profile allows front insertion. Once in, the interference fit holds it in position while you offer up the panel.

Embedded M3.5 brass threads give you a clean, durable fixing point. The adapter rotates freely until the screws are tightened - so the panel finds its own level as it clamps down. Slightly off-round hole? Doesn't matter. The adapter conforms and locks in place.

No back box. No modifications. No cavity access required.

Key Features

  • Front-insertion C-profile - Drops in from the front. No rear access - perfect for retrofit and finished surfaces.
  • Interference fit - holds position on insertion - Seats firmly in the cutout before panel installation. Stays put while you position the panel - no tape, no helper, no fuss.
  • Self-aligning under load - Rotates during positioning. Final level is set by the panel as screws tighten, clamping everything in place. Minor variation in hole size and alignment is absorbed automatically.
  • Universal fit - 68–70mm cutouts - Works across standard hole saw tolerances and real-world variation. A standard 70mm downlight hole saw does the job.
  • EU square (Type 86) compatibility - 60.3mm centres - Fits EU square panels from 80–90mm. Verified with Dynalite Antumbra EU, Revolution EU, KNX keypads, Shelly wall controls, Rithum switches, and other EU-format panels.
  • Embedded M3.5 brass threads - Rated for repeat removal and reinstallation. Won't strip, won't wear out.
  • Recessed screw bosses - Clearance for deeper panel backs and mounting plates.

Installation

  1. Mark and cut a 68–70mm opening centred on your panel location. A standard 70mm downlight hole saw does the job.
  2. Insert ControlFix from the front - interference fit seats it in position.
  3. Offer up your panel - adapter rotates freely for alignment.
  4. Insert and tighten screws until almost firm - check level, then final tighten to lock the adapter in position.

Important: Use M3.5 screws only. Some panels are supplied with non-M3.5 hardware - these are not compatible and may damage the brass threads.

Installer's Note

If you've used a plasterboard clip bracket for standard AU switches and power points, ControlFix is the same idea - purpose-built for EU square control panels and round cutouts.

In soft plasterboard, hole saw tolerances can vary - a slightly oversized or torn cutout may reduce the interference fit. If the adapter feels loose before panel installation, a small piece of tape across the front face holds it in position while you offer up the panel. Once the screws are tightened the adapter is fully locked regardless of initial fit.

This is normal on-site variation. ControlFix is designed to accommodate it.

Important Information

ControlFix is a third-party accessory component. Compatibility is defined by panel fixing centres - confirm your panel uses 60.3mm centres before purchase. Installation, suitability assessment, and compliance with applicable standards remain the responsibility of the installer.

For use with SELV (Safety Extra-Low Voltage) panels only. Not an electrical enclosure. Hand tools only.

Dynalite Dealer, Trade, Volume and Custom Supply

A 6-32 UNC threaded variant of ControlFix is available in DyNet orange for Dynalite dealer supply - engineered to accept the screws supplied with Dynalite EU panels directly, with no hardware substitution required.

ControlFix is a natural value-add for Dynalite dealers supplying Antumbra EU or Revolution EU panels. Every EU panel installation into a round wall cutout is an opportunity - a product your customer needs and cannot easily source elsewhere, supplied as part of your project package. Available in trade pack sizes.

ControlFix is also available in custom configurations for other volume applications, including alternative cutout diameters, screw centre spacings, and thread specifications.

Desktop and Surface Mounting

For the same EU square panel away from the wall, the ControlBase and ControlSurface ranges provide precision-matched mounting across a variety of installation contexts.

ControlBase is a desktop mounting platform that brings the panel to the operator - on a desk, boardroom table, reception counter, or any worktop surface. Each bracket is precision-matched to the geometry of a specific panel, presenting it at a fixed display angle with a weighted base for stable single-handed interaction. The panel stays live on the network, in the native system, exactly where it needs to be.

ControlSurface is a surface-mount bracket for direct installation onto joinery, stone, or timber - suited to reception desks, custom joinery, and architectural interiors.

Both ranges are available in Gallery finishes - Arctic, Luna, and Obsidian - and Core finish in Anthracite. Made to order in Melbourne.
